This service is available to eligible Job Seekers who are a NZ Citizen or a permanent resident.

To be eligible for this service, you must meet the following compulsory requirements:

  • You are a New Zealand citizen.
  • You are over the age of 18.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • You are receiving a job seeker benefit, a main benefit, or a solo parent benefit.
  • You have been made redundant from your previous job.
  • You are currently unemployed and seeking to transition to a new career.
  • You have been actively looking for work but haven’t been successful.

Please note that the Ministry of Development has the authority to consider other individuals for eligibility on a case-by-case basis, meaning they may make exceptions or evaluate additional circumstances when determining eligibility.
